Music on my iPod

I have 246 artists and 1249 songs but I usually listen to these artists the most.

Amy Winehouse: Back to Black - It's a shame she's gone as she had a voice and style that is so rare; Underrated and not taken seriously by the mainstream.

Beastie Boys: The In Sounds From Way Out - this is an instumental and shows the trio's talent - they do more than just rap and like above: underrated by the main.

Beatles: Abbey Road - So much history. period.

The Black Keys: Brothers, Attack & Release - both of these albums are raw and unique.

Bob Marley: Legend - see Beatles above.

Buena Vista Social Club: - initially I got this for background music but got hooked on the Cuban sound. Most of these club members are in the 60's & 70's. The DVD is great too.

Coldplay: A Rush Of Blood To The Head - you either love them or hate them. Their songs are mood enhancers.

Feist: Metals - recently got hooked on her after hearing sings from her previous album overplayed on the radio. "The Bad In Each Other" is the best tune on this album. A talented Canadian.

The Fugees: The Score, Blunted On Reality - Way ahead of its time. "Nappy Heads" gets me pumped up. Look for the Dave Chappell video onYouTube.

Lauren Hill: The Miseducation of.. - She cut her teeth with the Fugees and showed she can go solo too.

Nirvana: Unplugged in NY - possible my favourite album. Mellow and cool. Could be because the songs are played one step down.

Norah Jones: Come Away With Me - "Snorah" Jones but Relaxing is an understatement. Soo mellow and soothing. Easy to jam with too.

Pink Floyd: Darkside of the Moon - On the Billboard charts for ten+ years. There's a reason for that.

The Police: Outlandos d'Amour - Umbelievable drumming and sounds from just three musicians. Regetta de Blanc and Synchronicity are also outstanding.

Red Hot Chili Peppers: Blood Sugar Sex Magik - weird titled songs but "Suck My Kiss" has an amazing beat.

Rolling Stones: Exile On Main Street - Just cool knowing they recorded this in a French mansion.

Sade: Lovers Rock - Another too mellow work.

St. Vincent: Actor - Annie Clark is so underrated and unknown. She has more talent then today's top five mainstream artists combined.

White Stripes: Elephant - Jack White can play the guitar.

Casual Jam Session Club

"Casual Jam Session Club" is the name, I guess, of the group of friends and acquaintances that get together once in a while to play music. We play covers of all genres from A (Amy Winehouse) to Z (ZZ Top) and everything in between.
"Casual" is the key word here: we don't care if can't do the intro or outtro or solo; we just want to play and have fun. Here's shot of DT on bass with SP on drums and JK and Lil' PK singing Selena Gomez' "Love You Like A Love Song" at the Rize House last weekend.

We don't really have a singer but several brave individuals came up to the mic including 8 year old PK. If you know anyone in Vancouver with a voice and a love of music, please have them contact me by leaving a comment. We could also use a guitarist too.

Here's our set list from the night.
